Public bug reported:

I noticed very bad performance regression with xorg-server 1.5.1 against 1.4.
For the detailed report see here:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2008-October/039277.html

Michel Dänzer suggests to update the xserver to a recent server-1.5-branch that
has a fix to this problem:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2008-October/039278.html

This fix was discussed at
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16647

We should update the xserver to a recent server-1.5-branch or at least
backport the fix.
