Latest compiz updates doesn't solve the problem. Another very easy way to reproduce the issue is opening a window and moving the mouse over the top-right buttons in the title bar (minimize, maximize & close), rhythmically left and right, right and left. You can see the title bar changes from orange/brown to grey.
