Confirming; this reliably happens for me with gimp 2.4.5-1ubuntu2 under
Hardy with an 'ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV100 QY [Radeon 7000/VE]'.
There isn't really a fix upstream; there's just a workaround to avoid
triggering broken video drivers (add "(xor-color (color-rgb 1.0 1.0
1.0))" to ~/.gimp-2.4/gimprc) there. I'm adding a task for xserver-xorg-
video-ati instead.
