The problem is that the installation hangs for me as well, so I have no way of installing, thus no way of moving files. But I will try it if I ever mange to install it... I'm thinking of installing some really old version like 6.x and upgrading until it breaks.But it is a really annoying issue. Windows installs without any problems so it must be the combination of kernel and hardware.
