Yes, I checked MD5 hash, when I downloaded the package and after
I burned it on a CD (hash of CD). Both were as they should be.

Now I am using Kubuntu 8.04.1 -i386 on K9AMG (ATI RS485/SB600) with
Athlon64 3800+ which is intended to be my working machine.
There was no complication at all. Actually the machine got ready
as soon as Kubuntu was installed without any manual adjustment.

I also upgraded on MSI4AM-LSR with Athlon XP 2500+ which was my
previous working machine, from Ubuntu 7.04 through 7.10 to 8.04.1.
Here I got, alas, a resolution problem which I cannot fix by changing
xorg.conf time and again.
One thing I intend to try is to connect my cockpit (keyboard, monitor
and mouse) directly to computers. I am using KVM swich box and
I suddenly remember that I had resolution problem when I used
KVM on installing Ubuntu 7.04 to MSI4M-LSR.
KVM may not be the cause of the current problem but maybe a miracle.

I still maintain that just a line or two of setting of Ubuntu and
Kubuntu may be the cause of difference.

Many thanks for your taking troubles.
