After quite intensive search on the net I found that the real problem is within the DVD drive's firmware. It's TSST Corp DVD drive (I think it's Toshiba), TS-L632D. With default firmware on Hardy, the problem still persist.
The problem is, Acer didn't release any new firmware for this particular drive. But I found a firmware for the specific drive.type. So I need to crossflash the drive's firmware with a "generic" one, which is kind of risky practice. After that, seems the problem has gone. I don't know if I would reccomend this to any Acer or the drive's owner out there, since it develop some new problems on Windows. Some of my new burned DVDs, after the firmware upgrade are unreadable on the drive, but readable on other. But I'm not quite sure aswell wether this has anything todo with the upgrade or not. Hope that helps. And thanks ubuntu team for the persistent and responsive support of the bug. At least I can work on ubuntu now... which is more fun! -- intel 82801 GBM/GHM (ICH7-M Family) SATA storage controller -27c4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/57157 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
