Same for me. It seems not properly a full screen window in F11 style, but clicking F11 twice restore the window. Perhaps have you Compiz enabled, like me? On an Asus eeepc 901 with Ubuntu Hardy Installed I have the same behaviour on every window, but reloading Compiz solve the problem.
