Public bug reported: hi
this is something new to me, something in the updates released since the Ubuntu 8.10 beta, as I was running the 8.10 alpha 6 before that without this appearing... I am running Ubuntu 8.10 beta with all updates as of 09:00 South African time on Saturday 4 oct. I have 2 ntfs partitions, one 30 gig with Winxp and one 100 giig with WinXP backups and then Ubuntu is installed in the free space in the 3 section, using a default installation and telling it to install in free space. I want to access the backup partition, but have quite a long password (and yes I was eating a bacon/cheese toasted at the time, so only had one hand available...) so it took more than a couple seconds to type the password to mount the drive. I got a message that reads thus: <quote> Unable to mount 100.0 GB Media DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. </quote> There was an OK button in the error box which I clicked - I then continued to type the password and accessed the partition. I am not sure if this is specifically a timeout issue, but that is how it appears at first glance - and yes it is repeatable - I just did it again - this time minus bacon/cheese breakfast :) - but still typing slowly cheers ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- mounting partition authorisation timeout is too short https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277974 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
