I also confirm that it's annoing to have to open my "data" partition before I run rhythmbox.
IMHO mount tool should have very simple interface, with steps like 1. Choose desired partition to mount (using some nice GUI, that shows only known filesystems and maybe a bunch of data from each partition to make it easy to recognize proper one?) 2. Choose desired mount name.
