G'day Leann, Firstly, thank-you for taking interest in this bug. It's been a real nuisance as Suspend and Hibernate worked in Feisty and Gutsy in the earlier stages of development, but did not work in the final versions. I think sleep worked in Feisty.
I tried as you asked, without logging into X, I shifted to tty1 and tried sudo /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh force. System freeze. Tried it twice. Also without logging into X I tried sudo /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force. It went to sleep ok, but on wake-up the screen did not light up. After a hard shut down, the computer would freeze during boot just before loading the gdm login. Took three tries to successfully boot. I have included my kern.log Thanks dov ** Attachment added: "kern.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18141137/kern.log -- Suspend and hibernate stopped working on dell inspiron 1501 : Intrepid Alpha6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/273756 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
