David Prieto writes that "rhythmbox /path/to/file" works as long as the file is not in the library. I experience the contrary, "rhythmbox /path/to/file" does not work as long as "file" is not indexed. This is not a missing feature, but a defect! "rhythmbox /path/to/file" should work for any file, not only files indexed in the library.
