I have tested my recording again via the Intrepid Alpha 5 Live CD. I burnt a disk, rebooted, ran the disk's self-check, the disk was error- free, booted using the first option into the desktop, and neither playback nor recording was working. I then went and followed the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization to customize the .iso, and modify /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base (I will include the modified version below).
With the modifications, sound playback then worked on the LiveCD, but sound recording with my Internal Mic, Mic, or Line would not. When attempting to run 'arecord', it simply generates garbled text, and seems as if no audio is received into the system. Oddly enough, I can hear things being recorded, looped back through my internal and external speakers, but when attempting to record sound, and then have it played back, there is only silence, as if it's not storing the audio data in memory, to be played back. ** Attachment added: "alsa-base" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18100772/alsa-base -- HDA Intel Record off on restart (LG P1) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239597 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
