I just had this issue with intrepid alpha 6 (32 bit), on an Eee Pc 901. I sent the device to standby and back without a problem, and tried hibernate afterwards. I predictably failed with the message "PM: Cannot find swap device, try swapon -a.", which is completely ok, but then did not return to an operational state, but instead reported a soft lockup for both virtual processors:
BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 61s! [kacpi_notify:59] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 61s! [kstop1:12282] These messages keep appearing. The first of these messages was issued less than 60 seconds from the "Cannot find swap space"-message. -- CPU soft lockup on hibernation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/246577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
