After I installed the update and followed your directions, I got the following in my syslog:

Sep 28 19:12:41 ginny-desktop pulseaudio[19325]: main.c: setrlimit(RLIMIT_NICE, (31, 31)) failed: Operation not permitted Sep 28 19:12:41 ginny-desktop pulseaudio[19325]: main.c: setrlimit(RLIMIT_RTPRIO, (9, 9)) failed: Operation not permitted I still have no sound.
