Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lirc

I installed mythbuntu alpha 6 and updated. During installation, I chose
Hauppauge TV as remote (pvr-150 silver remote) and Hauppauge pvr-150 -
Dish as IR blaster.

Used synaptic to upgrade packages

Installation of new lirc fails with

Setting up lirc (0.8.3-0ubuntu2) ...
 * Reloading kernel event manager... [ OK ]
 * Loading LIRC modules
^Cdpkg: error processing lirc (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script killed by signal (Interrupt)
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

LIRC modules never load and had to ctrl-c to abort

I think this is related to a bug where both lirc_i2c and lirc_pvr150 are loaded
at the same time:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lirc/+bug/222250
perphaps this bug is related too:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-meta/+bug/222359

prior to trying to update lirc, I had this line in dmesg (from booting)
Error: Driver 'i2c ir driver' is already registered, aborting...

** Affects: lirc (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

--
