Just done a little test. I tried to install libmagick10. libmagick10 is found
but it fails to install.
the full output being:

    sudo aptitude install libmagick10
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
    Reading extended state information
    Initializing package states... Done
    Building tag database... Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:
      libmagick10
0 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B/4042kB of archives. After unpacking 12.0MB will be used.
    Writing extended state information... Done

    Unpacking libmagick10 (from

    Errors were encountered while processing:

    E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
    Reading extended state information
    Initializing package states... Done
    Building tag database... Done

However when I do:
    sudo aptitude show libmagic10
The output is:
E: Unable to locate package libmagic10

So it looks like there is a problem with the installation of libmagic10
