I also suspected that change was responsible, so I tried building genisoimage_1.1.6-1ubuntu3 on Hardy but it actually does not fix the problem. When trying to mount the image in Windows (running in a VirtualBox) the same error is given: "Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows."
