I'm having the same problem as the initial poster. After bootup I can
mount the shares by using mount /mnt/Sharename which means the fstab
command is good, but during boot I get the smbfs error. Searching the
web I found that adding smbfs to /etc/modules might solve the problem,
but it has not for me.
