Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gvfs
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release: 8.04 gvfs 0.2.5-0ubuntu2 I use gvfs to mount my samba shares, since I couldn't get the permissions right with cifs or smbfs. I frequently have to download files from a website to a mounted samba share. When I select the mounted samba share on the left of the "Save As" dialog under "places" then click save, nothing happens (no errors, no downloading dialog, no saved file). I often forget about this bug, and assume the file was saved successfully. A workaround is to browse to the mounted share in "~/.gvfs". I don't understand why the shortcut doesn't work the same as the mount point in ".gvfs". Is there a way to remove the "places" shortcut, because it is more of an annoyance than a convenience. I suspect it has something to do with keyring access, but why would keyring access be required when the share is already mounted and accessible through the filesystem? ** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gvfs "places" buggy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/273213 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
