There isn't a file main.log in /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log

The only files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ are:
apt.log
term.log

My original post occurred on my Dell desktop. Now I am getting the same
error on my HP laptop.

In my Dell I as eventually able to upgrade after modifying my
sources.list file, below is my current sources.list file from my HP
laptop:

By commenting out deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu edgy-security main
restricted I was able to get past the 'could not calculate' error. I'm not
sure if that is any help.

Thanks.
