Same on my Notebook System. I made an upgrade from Dapper to Edgy with setting everthing in /etc/apt/sources.list from dapper to edgy, sudo apt-get dist-upgrade on my Desktop and my Notebook.
On the Desktop, everything works fine. The Notebook needs around 1 minute from closing the bootscreen to the first sign of X and another minute to starting KDE. Starting sudo Xorg from the commandline (without running kdm) needs one or two seconds. I have started /etc/init.d/kdm with -debug 255. The output is attached. -- slow kdm/kde startup since upgrade to edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/68808 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
