Public bug reported:

Test Bed --
Dolphin 0.9.2 (using KDE 3.5.9)

Issue --
It would be good to have a context menu link or properties page for
calculating/ comparing md5 checksums in Dolphin.
Currently we need to drop to the command line for this.

Use Case --
User downloads a GNU+Linux distribution .iso file from the internet. Right
clicks on the file, goes to the md5 page and pastes the known md5 in a text box
provided to validate the file.
Alternatively we could even have a new window pop-up if we don't want to change
the existing properties window.

Attachments --
A mockup of a possible dialog box.

Comment --
Some might say why not extend this for sha and other checksum algorithms as
well :)
