abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc abc

1. As you can see, I just wrote abc space a bunch of times. After the
last one, a new line started. Perhaps this is related. This is in the
normal setting not the preformat setting.

2. I copy pasted from a word doc and open office. It word wrapped in
normal setting so I selected all and set to preformat. It made the whole
thing multi-spaced on my computer. I did this because my boss required
no word wrapping. He said the word wrapping went away but the spacing
after periods was missing. I checked my sent box and noticed a really
wide font with really wide spacing. So it may be that the spaces just
don't show because everything is so wide and spacey. Not sure.

Anyway if you fix what the text looks like when it's selected then set
in preformat that would help. I'm also not sure why it word wraps in
normal setting. I don't know if that is by design or not.

I have Hardy Heron.

I hope this answers your questions. Feel free to ask more if necessary.
If I haven't answered your question properly because I didn't understand
it, feel free to ask again. I'll ask my husband for a detailed
explanation because he is a software engineer who works with Linux.
