Same here, Ubuntu 8.04 64 bits Dual core Xeon nvidia quadro 4500 FX Compiz fusion
I've noticed it also happen when I want to "rise" Amarok and click on its icon, X sometimes crash So it may have something to do with KDE inside gnome, the task bar / compiz-fuzion and nvidia, probably quite difficult to fix. Where can we find some information about the reason of X crashing ? Some log file ?
