I have the same problem with an ATI Mobility 2600 HD card, on Ubuntu Hardy Heron (laptop is a HP 8510p).
Glxgears and screen savers flash black every few seconds. With Glxgears it seems to get worse if I move the mouse around (switching focus between windows as I enabled focus follows mouse). Attached is my Xorg.0.log. I seem to get lots of messages like: (WW) AIGLX: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x23 Any ideas? Could this be a hardware problem?
