Tested with a few release candidates of Edgy. Slightly different behavior. First, I get the random glitch when installing, bug #27227
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gfxboot/+bug/27227 And then the LiveCD goes shows me a welcome screen with about 5 login windows, all overlayed, a bit apart from each other. The lines are all scrambled - I can just about tell what the login windows. And the screen is not stable, the windows/lines are shaking. The problem is that I have no other linux distro on the machine and so I am not sure how and where to store any log files, and/or how to access them. The only working OS on the machine is Windows x64. Problems are not limited to Ubuntu. Tried other major distros - never got a clean desktop working. I am going to change my video card, to Nvidia, this weekend. Will test again and report results - a clean install would isolate problems to the the video card. -- I could not test out LiveCD at all https://launchpad.net/bugs/46697 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
