Right now, I am writing from Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5 64bit live CD. I set the internet connection using
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0bda:8187 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8187 Wireless Adapter This in integrated on my Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard. It looks that the connection is OK (I am connected via Alice DSL - you have to set firtst wireless connection using WEB encryption, then set pppoe connection using pppoeconf). The connection looks stable! Only what is weird is the link quality. With the driver I described in my previous post, the quality was around 70%. With this driver, I have wlan0 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:"ALICE-WLAN12" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462 GHz Access Point: 00:D0:DE:6F:C7:86 Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Tx-Power=27 dBm Retry min limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr=2352 B Power Management:off Link Quality=13/100 Signal level:65/65 Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 Only 13%. But I can't see any speed problems. -- rtl8187 drops connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182473 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
