With most recent updates, 3D acceleration once more blown away for nvidia-glx-177, (which no longer shows up as a Restricted Driver). Once gdm attempts to start, I again get a pop-up telling me that there was a problem with my video settings and that my computer is in low-resolution graphics mode. Only way out is to accept default configuration, which gets me 1280x800 correctly, but no 3D accel. Luckily, now there's a prompt for Troubleshooting, Startup & Xorg logs attached below.
Whatever keeps getting reset about the 3D accel and 1280x800 resolution, (and needs to be restored by running nvidia-xconfig, and then a good bit of playing thereafter) is not in xorg.conf, as I've copied over my prior xorg.conf after the low-graphics prompt, and still don't get 3D accel. nvidia-xconfig must be setting something else. ** Attachment added: ":0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17556554/%3A0.log -- Disabling 3D Accel, (and not holding @ 1280x800) with nvidia-glx-177 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259842 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
