Daniel: that must be because the original reporter was using Nvidia and 800x600
Instead of adding a bug for 1024x768 with ATI I added my comments here, which seem appropriate after all, since it not only doesn't fit 800x600 but a bigger resolution as well. My opinion is that the graphic card or window manager are irrelevant.
