Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: partman-crypto

Hi,

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.1 alternate CD. Installation on a blank new hard-drive :
1- Created a new partition table
2- Created 3 partitions :
        sda1, 200MB, ext3, /boot
sda2, 2GB, crypt (random key) will be used as swap
sda3, 144GB, crypt (passphrase) will be used as /
3- Choosed "Configure encrypted volumes"

The installer formatted sda1, generated a key for sda2 and didn't ask a
passphrase for sda3. It tried to come back to the partitionner and gets
stuck at 47% on "Starting up the partitionner".

I've tried several different partition layout with the same result. The
only things that works is to let the assistant do a "Full disc
encryption with LVM".

Maybe I am missing something. If so, could you point me to a good HowTo
on install-time crypto with Ubuntu ? I've been unable to find it :(

** Affects: partman-crypto (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
