@Rouben. Yes this happens with Totem as well, even with the same error message. Originally I filed two separate bugs, one for Gedit and one for Totem. Caroline Ford has merged the two into one as shown in an earlier comment; the Totem-bug is apparantly completely wiped away, I cannot find this one anymore, even when using expert search and turning 'Rejected' and 'Fix released' on.
>From a technical point of view, the problem could be in the underlying package (gnome-vfs) or in the implementation of gnome-vfs by other packages such as gedit and totem. The fact that this problem is detected in two separate packages in the same time, could indicate that it's the underlying packages., i.e. gnome-vfs.
