I can say that for edgy , this bug is obsolete for HP NX7010 users. Default driver "ati" in edgy, can enable direct 3d.
IF YOU WANT BETTER PERFORMANCE FOR YOUR HP NX7010, INSTALL RADEON DRIVERS, NOT FGLRX. refer to : https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonDriver INSTEAD. For tweaking part, the only valid value for Option AGPMode is 1 (which is default).
