Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-2-generic
Hardware Information: ASUS A8V Deluxe with VIA chipset with on-board sound (VIA 8237 w/Realtek ALC 850) which is disabled in the BIOS due to the fact that i have a PCI sound card installed (Audigy 2). The problem: Even though it is disabled, the modules for this card are still loaded (snd_via82xx,snd_via82xx_modem). The workaround to this is to add these modules to the blacklist file so that they are not loaded. I am running ubuntu 8.10 alpha 5 with the latest updates. uname -a output: Linux greg-desktop 2.6.27-2-generic #1 SMP Thu Aug 28 17:20:02 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux Please let me know if i can provide any further information to help solve this bug. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: linux-2.6.27 ** Tags added: linux-2.6.27 -- Dirvers are loaded for devices that are disabled in the bios https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267411 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
