Public bug reported: I've got an old IBM laptop (it's an unusual one; i1300 or something like that I think; 500 MHz CPU). Ever since I installed Gutsy I think (or maybe Feisty, can't remember), up to now with the current Hardy, display power-saving mode has been a problem. When display power-saving mode starts, it is impossible to exit power-saving mode. The keyboard appears locked up (caps lock key does nothing) and moving the mouse doesn't exit power saving mode. However, it is still possible to SSH into the computer over the network. I think killing the X server and gdm revives it (if I remember correctly).
The X server is running the Silicon Motion driver. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: I've got an old IBM laptop (it's an unusual one; i1300 or something like that I think; 500 MHz CPU).
