I can confirm that the intrepid release candidates ( as of the September download ) have this problem with machines across the board. Memtest 2.01 fails on lower memory, to the point it crashes and locks up on a Dell Latitude CPx and a home built Dual Core Athlon that are stable. ( under 8.04 & older memtest releases ).
