Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-686
This is a regression for breezy. In Breezy, I had suspend/hibernate and resume working great with my hp nc6220 notebook. After upgrading to dapper, however, neither suspend nor hibernate seems to work. To initiate either, I select Quit... from the System menu, and then select either Suspend or Hibernate from the screen that pops up. In both cases, I get a blank screen and password prompt, as if I'd selected Lock Screeen. dmesg shows no new messages when I select either option. In /var/log/messages, I see Jun 30 14:49:41 localhost gnome-power-manager: Suspending computer because the DBUS method Suspend() was invoked or Jun 30 14:53:58 localhost gnome-power-manager: Hibernating computer because the DBUS method Hibernate() was invoked depending on which option I selected. This may be related to #50031, but the symptoms manifest themselves differently here: in #50031, the thinkpad goes into a 'half-suspended' state; here, it doesn't even try. ** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- ACPI suspend/hibernate doesn't work anymore https://launchpad.net/bugs/51465 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
