I had the same problem - missing files in that lib32stdc++6 package.
This really can't be a coincidence; some postinst/preinst somewhere is
nuking the files.

The workaround I used was the same as above;

  dpkg --remove lib32stdc++6
  apt-get install lib32stdc++6

And now OOo starts!  Yay!  :)
