Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.15-25-686

Hi

I get really bad performance from my Intel Pentium M (which I understand
to be a 686 chip) from Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper) install. It seems definatly
related to the 686 image, as this isn't present in neither linux-
image-2.6.15-23-686 nor linux-image-2.6.15-25-386

What I've been using as benchmark for this is simply watching a DVD in
xine - When working correctly (in 2.6.15-23-686 and 2.6.15-25-386) out
of 200 frames about 2 are discarded - With the linux-image-2.6.15-25.686
about 60 frames per 200 are discarded, the image is obviously jumpy, and
overall performance when opening/closing windows is noticably weaker.

Initially asked in forums
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=199660 if related to i810
driver in x.org - Still not sure. Please let me know if you need more
information/help to addres/resolve this.

Thanks

Yours for the cause of open-source

Roy
