I'm using latest Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 and it does not! Yesterday I plugged in friend's MP3 player (It was some sort of Dunlop player), only /dev/sda node was created. When I tried to double click on icon in nautilus then pmount gave me some sort of error, but when i manually mounted it "mount /dev/sda /media/mp3" then it worked.
