Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: php5

When trying to install PHP5 with PDO support for the PDO_MYSQL driver there is
no package. With no package I tried to install via pecl. A pecl install of PDO
worked, however it would not work on the pdo_mysql driver. It would bomb with
the following:
checking for PDO includes... checking for PDO includes... /usr/include/php/ext
configure: error:
You've configured extension pdo_mysql, which depends on extension pdo,
but you've either not enabled pdo, or have disabled it.

ERROR: `/tmp/tmptDnQ5L/PDO_MYSQL-1.0.2/configure' failed

I did find a link to a site that had the same issue.
http://bhiv.com/category/linux/

The temporary solution is to manually build the mysql driver. It seems
like there should be some php5-pdo package as there is in the dotdeb
repositories.

Thanks for looking into this.
