I have also installed the latest Dapper-Update with the new kernel, and there is also no difference - i still get the missing letters approximately every 20 seconds. My laptop is an acer travelmate 2303lm so the bug is not fixed for me. And if the bug 39315 is fixed now - the duplicate bug 37472 still exists, where the missing letters are described on an acer travelmate 2300.
