I am confirming this on Kubuntu Dapper, using KDE 3.5.3.

Since the update to Dapper, amarok-gstreamer is not available, and one
has to use amarok-xine. However, the Xine engine has several problems,
one of them being that it can not play some .wav files. This is, I
guess, a bug in all apps using Xine (Xine UI, Kaffeine-Xine, Amarok-
Xine...).

Amarok-gstreamer should be made available again. Gstreamer seems to work
better than Xine.
