I am confirming this on Kubuntu Dapper, using KDE 3.5.3. Since the update to Dapper, amarok-gstreamer is not available, and one has to use amarok-xine. However, the Xine engine has several problems, one of them being that it can not play some .wav files. This is, I guess, a bug in all apps using Xine (Xine UI, Kaffeine-Xine, Amarok- Xine...).
Amarok-gstreamer should be made available again. Gstreamer seems to work better than Xine. -- Amarok xine backend sometimes doesn't work, also freezes https://launchpad.net/bugs/34052 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
