Public bug reported: I have a Acer Aspire 1362LM.
The IDE controller is: VP_IDE: VIA vt8235 (rev 00) IDE UDMA133 controller on pci0000:00:11.1 When I have high I/O, sometimes the system freeze for some seconds, then return to works.... In dmesg I found [17179822.284000] hda: dma_timer_expiry: dma status == 0x21 [17179832.392000] hda: DMA timeout error [17179832.392000] hda: dma timeout error: status=0xd0 { Busy } [17179832.392000] ide: failed opcode was: unknown [17179832.392000] hda: DMA disabled [17179832.488000] ide0: reset: success I tried all solutions, using hdparm, etc... but nothing changed. I think is a linux kernel bug because freebsd don't have this problem. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- High I/O sometimes couse dma timeout errors https://launchpad.net/bugs/50192 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
