While searching in Google several months ago, I came across a response addressed to me regarding on how to read, correct and write to the same file at the same time without using a secondary file as a temporary file to hold the corrected entries and rewriting to the original file.

The entry was dated back approximately four years ago. I thought I printed it out as that was a new concept to me then. Could someone explain how to found such an article or kindly refresh my memory on how to correct an original file without using a secondary file. Thanks.
