OSX ships with a Python installation, so every Mac has Python. I guess you mean that you have installed a newer Python installation? Try creating a plain text file called hello.py and putting the following text in it: print('hello world') raw_input('Press any key to continue') If you can run that program with the launcher then you're in business.
