Use the PyCrypto module. It (not so) recently changed maintainers, there isn't a release yet at the main site: http://www.dlitz.net/software/pycrypto/, so use the old site for now, http://www.amk.ca/python/code/pycrypto.html. If you're using Linux, check to see if there's already a package for your distribution. There are windoze binaries at http://www.voidspace.org.uk/modules.shtml#pycrypto.
