It is possible to sync contact from "account" found in system settings. There should be a shortcut/menu entry from the contact apps to sync contact from an online account. After created an account, instead of going back to the account home, it should go automaticly on the new account added so the user can see (and not miss) the checkbox "sync contact" from this new account (can think that just adding the account was needed to sync).
