They said 2g is being phased out. Maybe their news is not up to date … If it has already gone would I be seeing the signal still or would that disappear ?

Oddly, the new auto-reply feature [an SMS saying "I will call you back later etc."] DOES send! Or at least it shows green in the messages list.
