Thanks for reporting. I would assume it is the update-manager which calculates/displays the progress, so I have marked that as also affected.
I *think* it is supposed to display the lowest applicable unit when displaying the amount downloaded. I've seen the downloaded count switch from kB til MB when it gets high enough, but I don't know exactly where the threshold is.
