There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. Ubuntu 9.10 is no longer supported, it would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. Kubuntu sees the printer, it's listed in CUPS and it my printer reacts to printing command. It process the job and then stops. In my printer manager I see the job being process and then it shows "job stopped". Have no idea what are the packages but I'm using Kubuntu 9.10 (64bits).
